Thermal Fuses For GHD Hair Appliances
- Compatible new manufactured thermal fuses and also where available new and used original manufacturer thermal fuses.
- Used fuses are tested for serviceability when removed from original manufactured appliances but since they are used they will have cosmetic signs of use and marks, but no damage which would affect use.
- Due to the varied range of GHD appliances we can only advertise a limited amount of our vast stock on our website so if you require a certain part not shown or a limited edition variation colour please send us an email and we will check stock.
- These manufactured thermal fuses are as used by ourselves to repair broken hair straighteners, and since we are currently the largest supplier and manufacturer of parts and components to fix your broken or damaged GHD hair straighteners and hair dryers, our parts are the best available.
- If the thermal fuse activates or fails to operate after fitting, this will be caused by another faulty component, such as a capacitor or thermistor on the GHD hair straightener and does not indicate a faulty fuse.
- Thermal fuses are single use safety components, and will become open circuit if the temperature exceeds a safety level of 229 or 240 degrees celsius to prevent the GHD overheating and catching fire.
- GHD originally used a PEPI H1 thermal fuse on their ceramic thermistor heaters however on the latest GHD ORIGINAL S4C242 the fuse is an axial thermal fuse encased in an aluminium case which is then welded to the heater element.
- We have ascertained from this upgrade and previous faults, that the PEPI H1 has a design fault in that oxidation occurs and the metal pads on the heater are corroded by the electrical circuit and the contact is lost which is why you often see a working heater and PEPI H1 but still the GHD is faulty. By removing the corrosion this issue is prevented and the fault resolved.
- We have manufactured the axial fuse with a similar aluminium casing so it remains in contact with the heater, we also have high heat solder available (set soldering iron to 400 degrees celsius) to affix if required.
- PLEASE ensure after carrying out any repair to a GHD you leave for 30 minutes before use to ensure the temperature has settled and the safety cut out feature activates correctly.
We can also supply quotations, with discount for larger orders but only where we have availability to do so, if this is of interest please contact with your buying request and we will endeavour to offer a very competitive price.
In order to maintain our company ethos of recycle and repair we do not offer trade prices, we believe every customer should be able to purchase a part for a hair straightener at a low price to attempt a repair, without feeling it is too costly to do and not worth doing.
Siriushair can assure you that any repair attempt is worth trying, we need to start repairing again, too much faulty electrical waste ends in landfill damaging our fragile earth, when a simple replacement fuse or cable could save this happening.
With this in mind we need faulty GHD hair straighteners so we can break them for parts, we source currently from hair salons and waste recycling organisations, but obviously some parts are in higher demand than others, so we decided to help the amateur repairer.
Repair And Recycle Initiative:
Unfortunately we can only do this for UK customers due to postage costs and customs, so my apologies to all our overseas repairers.
When you purchase a thermal fuse you can rest assured that the repair attempt will not cost you anything except your time, if you commence the repair and find you do not have the skills or patience, the thermal fuse does not rectify the fault, the fuse is damaged in the repair process, or you simply find that with your best of intentions you are unable to fix your hair straightener we will help.
- Included will be a prepaid return label and information sheet.
- Put your faulty, damaged, hair straightener and thermal fuse in some recycled packaging, no need to put back together, complete the form, and attach the postage label, drop in a post box or take to the post office.
- Once the parts and straightener arrive we will refund in full for the parts used and then recycle the hair straightener for parts so someone else can attempt a repair.
- Siriushair thinks this is a fantastic idea to promote people once again repairing rather than throwing away and buying new and hopefully you will as well.
